Final Conference LATWORK: Informality and Precariousness: what is the future of work in Latin America?
Within the framework of the LATWORK Project Activities, from November 9 to 11, the LATWORK International Final Conference "Informality and Precariousness: what is the future of work in Latin America?" at the State University of Campinas, Brazil.
The space called for the participation of prominent researchers and researchers, professors and professors from Europe and Latin America dedicated to the study of Work and Informality. The Conference was characterized by three working days, under the following structure: DAY 1

The opening of the event and greetings from the authorities of the State University of Campinas took place, then the coordination of the publication of the REDLATT Book "Informality in Latin America, a current look?" for the realization of a presentation and comments on it.

In a third moment, the inaugural conference of the event was held, which was in charge of the specialist Lais Abramo (ILO, ECLAC, CLACSO), under the title "New and old forms of informality and structural inequalities in Latin America"

Continuing with the activities of the day, in the afternoon the presentation sessions of the REDLATT Working Groups began. At this point, each working group was in charge of coordinating the spaces for specific presentations.

To close the day, Special Panel No. 1 was carried out by "Working Group A" Economic development, regulation, public policies and informality of REDLATT and was in charge of

Luiz Gonzaga Belluzzo from the State University of Campinas and Adalberto Cardozo from the State University of Rio de Janeiro.

DAY 2

The activities to start the second day revolved around the spaces for Presentation Sessions of the REDLATT Working Groups. Each working group was in charge of coordinating the spaces for specific presentations in their face-to-face and virtual format.

Continuing with the sessions, the Special Panel No. 2 was led by the “Group of Work D” Gender and Work of REDLATT.

Said panel was in charge of Nalu Faria, Coordinator of SOF- Semper Viva Organização Feminista e

member of the Coordination of the World March of Women, Yolanda Cortes and Nery Cuarite - Coordinators of AMILV – Association of Immigrant Women Light and Life, São Paulo, Brazil, and Rejane Gomes Carvalho, Federal University of Paraíba, Brazil.



In a third moment, Special Panel No. 3 was carried out by "Working Group C" New configurations of informality, social inequality and precariousness of REDLATT.

The panel was presented under the title Informality and Survival Strategies and was given by Javier Auyero, Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long Professor in Latin American Sociology, Department of Sociology, University of Texas, Austin.

To close the day, the Special Panel on Social Movements was held. Eliane de Moura Martins, a history graduate, sociology doctor, militant of the Workers' Movement for Rights, participated in this space. I accompany her in the exhibition Gilvania Gonçalves, State Coordinator of the MTST and State and National Coordinator of Workers without Rights.
 
DAY 3

The third and last day of the conference began with the spaces for Presentation Sessions of the REDLATT Working Groups. As in the previous days, each GT was in charge of coordinating the spaces for specific presentations in their face-to-face and virtual format.

Continuing with the activities, it was the turn of Special Panel No. 4 in charge of the “Working Group D” Social, Solidarity and Popular Economy of REDLATT. This panel had three exhibitions:

The first exhibition was in charge of Professor Mg. Roberto Roitman of the National University of Cuyo, Argentina, and revolved around "The Revolution 4.0 and its consequences in the Social, Solidarity and Popular Economy". In a second moment it was the turn of Dr. Facundo Orqueida from the National University of Rosario, Argentina, and the topic for discussion he suggested was "Cooperativism in the Software Industry". The last speaker was Professor Dr. Mauricio Sardá from the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco, Brazil, and he proposed a debate on “Prospects for the Solidarity Economy in Brazil under the Latin American labor context”.

In the second half of the day, the Closing Conference of the working days was carried out. At this point, the Magisterial Lecture "The Informal Economy and its Role in the Countries of the Capitalist Periphery: A New Look at Latin America" ​​was held, by Professor Alejandro Portes of the Howard Harrison and Gabrielle S. Beck Professor. of Sociology (Emeritus) Princeton University and Professor of Law and Distinguished Scholar of Arts & Sciences, University of Miami.

To end the work days, a Coordination Meeting and progress was held with those present and Partners of the LATWORK Project to discuss the steps to follow for the Network of Latin American Studies on Informal and Precarious Work (REDLATT).

In closing, Dari Krein from the State University of Campinas and the Coordinator of the LATWORK Project, Meritxell Calbet Montcusí, greeted the event.
