LATWORK project present at the Expoempleo Online job fair held by the Universidad San Sebastián for the Los Lagos.
The online job fair held on August 25, 26 and 27 in the Los Lagos region was an initiative of the Directorate of Employability and Graduates of the San Sebastián University,
in collaboration with the Human Resources Consultants of Pro-Attitude and Varas Associates and the regional government.
The Pandemic generated by the Covid-19 virus has led to high problems of employability, especially with the increase in informal work and the high unemployment rates. Due to this
concern and in order to offer support to the community of the Los Lagos region, Expo-Empleo was developed, an online job fair that had the participation of more than 30 companies
who got involved through talks, job offers for professionals and technicians. The activity had the support of the regional government, the Seremi de Economía and the Entrepreneurship
Ecosystem of the region.
During the three days of the fair, the more than 300 attendees were able to learn about multiple strategies to face the current panorama of the world of work, thus, in the closing day,
practical and analytical employability experiences were shown. Highlighting the presentation of Ana María Calderón Jaramillo, PhD., Head of the Directorate of Employability and Graduates
of the San Sebastián University who presented the Latwork Project, as a strategy that will allow in-depth analysis of informal work in the different contexts in that this happens. In addition,
he took the opportunity to invite researchers, academics, social organizations and leaders of the participating institutions to participate in this initiative, who can provide greater angles of
analysis given the current context of the region, which has high unemployment and employment figures. informal in increasing increase, which is why it is vitally important to be able to anticipate
